Cross Country

Today we had cross country.

We all tried our best and ran as fast as we could. The Year 1 boys used all their surfer values as they ended up having to race twice.

Miss D was very proud of all of us.

Tuesday

We have been learning to paint a picture with our words.

Room 2 watched the video of David Wiensner's book Tuesday.

We spent three days writing the beginning, middle and end.

One night frogs were sleeping on their lily pads.  They were flying but it wasn’t a dream.  They flew past a man who was eating a sandwich.  Kaboom! They were in an old lady’s house. One of the frogs changed the channel with his tongue. Boom! They were falling down.  They ended up near the lake and dived back in.

At night the frogs were dreaming about flying. The frogs started flying on their lily pads! Then suddenly one of the frogs crashed into one of the washing lines.  Then a frog floated through the window and they watched T.V. One of the frogs changed the channel with his tongue.  The next day, there were lily pads all over the place.  The police officers were wondering what happened. 

Eekk

After lunch we eekk. Eekk means elbow to elbow knee to knee. We sit like this and read to a buddy.
Today we were reading to a Room 1 friend.
We are going to do this after lunch each day

In the weekend I went to the mall. We went because my dad's phone broke and mum wanted to get him a new one. I went with mum and phoebe. Once mum got the new phone we went up the escalator then me and phoebe and dad went to the little inside playground. Then we went back downstairs and had an ice cream

Each day we get to work between Rooms 1 and 2

It's lots of fun working with new people and trying new activities. Today we had literacy activities in Room 1 and numeracy activities in Room 2.

We have been working on asking different people to join in with us.

Learning about Brazil with Room 1

Today Room 1 came to visit to learn about Brazil, while Room 2 were in Room 4 learning about New Zealand

What does Room 1 already know about Brazil?

Emilie. It has houses and cars
Bruno. Everywhere has houses and cars.
Amelie. They have people
Harry. There are cows
Finn there are skyscrapers
Harry. there are blue birds
Emily G. The blue birds are parrots













- We pointed to where we thought Brazil was. We knew it was a big country.

Finn and Bruno found out that it was in South America.









After our first lesson we knew...

Harry. There are special dolphins that live in the Amazon River
Emily the flag is green yellow and blue
Bruno. The rainforest is the green, the yellow is gold, and the blue is the sky
Ieuan: there are toucans, jaguars and leopards in the rainforest
Heather. There are frogs in the rainforest

We are looking forward to making our carnival masks tomorrow
